Climbing in Sicily
Five editions in almost twenty years, give an idea of the evolution that the world of climbing in Sicily has had. In particular, after the explosion of the climbing first in Palermo And then in Trapani, in the area of San Vito Lo Capo, here is that it is up to the eastern area, with Canicattini who is emerging as the third Sicilian pole. Many news, not only for cliffs but also as regards the boulder and the Deep Water Solo.
The increase of long streets, brought the project to the separation between cliffs and multipitch (volume that will be released following the one presented here) in two different volumes, as already happened to many other important climbing areas treated in our series.

Massimo Cappuccio, born in 1966, Climber, photographer and traveler. He started climbing in the early nineties and since the beginning he worked on for the development and promotion of this sport. In the area of Syracuse, where he lives, he nodded the first sectors, opened several long ways (trad and sports) and made the first indoor gym. Organizer of the San Vito Climbing Festival and other outdoor sporting events. He traveled and climbed in the most remote areas of the five continents, also carrying out long crossings in mountain bikes, trekking and mountaineering shipments. Even today, as a photographer and author of several editorial projects, he is engaged in promoting climbing and sports tourism in Sicily
Giuseppe "Peppe" Gallo, Palermo born in 1965, began his mountaineering activity over 30 years ago maturing a discreet curriculum of ice climbs and on rock over the Alpine, Apennine and especially in Sicily. National Alpinism Instructor of the CAI, in Sicily he was the promoter of a series of initiatives for the care and enhancement of climbing sites and in the spread of mountaineering activities. Great connoisseur of the Sicilian territory, he has created in this region a long series of repetitions as well as new openings. With Massimo Cappuccio and Daniele Arena he conceived and organized the San Vito Climbing Festival for 10 years.
