Final paths
The Finale offers a rich variety of paths and walks suitable for both the expert hiker and to the seaside tourist that he wants to face and know a landscape other than the marine one. Going beyond the coast line among the narrow valleys that go up to the prealpine ridge, you can meet an uncontaminated nature where, however, the hand of the man is still present who, with difficulty, has torn these steep lands to the mountain to draw their livelihoods. The history of the final begins millions of years ago and reads it in its particular rock, the stone of the ending, huge sedimentary deposit calcified and emerged from the sea. In the millennia, the water engraved these rocks creating a landscape rich in plateaus, valleys, dizzying rocky walls, hills and caves. Today the Finalese is a natural environment rich in biodiversity. The arboreal and floral species, some natives, vary by moving from the coast inwards. Close to the sea we find dense woods of holm oaks and aleppo pines while the shrubs of the Mediterranean scrub (strawberry tree, juniper, ginestra and aromatic herbs) perfume the most sunny slopes. Going up altitude, chestnuts and Frassini colonize the freshest and most humid valleys. To this botanical wealth is added an equally fauna variety. With this guide you will have the opportunity to discover all this.
Info on the author
Marco "Thomas" Tomassini (1971) He began climbing and attending the Finalese in the 1980s.
The passion for the mountain and the rock approach it first to speleology and following the climbing. In short, it also begins to equip climbing itineraries especially in the Finanse area. Between 1993 and 1996 he became an instructor of the S.S.I. (Italian speleological society) and then sports climbing instructor in the U.I.S.P. (Italian Union Italian Sport for All) and HELP INSTRUCTOR IN THE C.A.I. (Italian Alpine Club). Final and its rocks become the climbing and nailing scenario that prefers. Here, over the course of about twenty years, equips on my own or together with others, more than 500 itineraries.
In July 2007, he published his first "Finale by Thomas" Guide with the publishing house ... a sort of "professional" curriculum. In 2010 his second guide was released on the Finalese, "Final ... not only sea", published by the same publishing house, which describes the extra-hotel structures of the area.
His constant and continuous nailing activity is rewarded by the Salewa company which inserts it among the local "Salewa People". In 2011, after a careful and obsessive mapping work and relief of the cliffs of the Finale, "Climbing Final" published by South side came out.
Paths of Finale is his fourth guide, born from a new passion; The research and discovery of paths and trekking.
