Multi-purpose belayer / descender with innovative and compact design (registered design), suitable for use with half ropes, twin ropes and full ropes, in mountaineering, climbing on multi-pitch sport and trad routes. Intuitive and easy to use, it is equipped with a modular braking system to optimize braking with every type of rope and allows independent and self-locking recovery of seconds.
Extremely versatile it allows:
- belaying the first climber effectively. The particular design of the body allows you to give the rope fluidly, quickly and without hitches;
- during the belaying of the lead climber on multi-pitch routes with two ropes, to give one rope while the other is blocked, this maneuver makes BE UP unique in its kind;
- effective and modular braking of the ropes via the “V” grooves, specially designed for better braking control during the arrest of a flight, double rope and recovery of seconds;
- independent and self-locking recovery of one or two seconds (guide mode). The particular geometry of the device and the attachment ring integrated into the body allow you to effectively recover one or two seconds with half ropes and twin ropes of Ø = 7.3 mm. It also allows you to recover a second, while the other is hanging on the tool;
- the release and the progressive descent of one second under tension even in empty space, without effort, with half ropes and twin ropes of Ø = 7.3 mm. This maneuver makes BE UP unique and is carried out by inserting a simple hms carabiner into the unlocking hole;
- the rapid transition from recovery mode (guide mode) to belaying the leader, when climbing with alternating pitches;
- abseiling while keeping the ropes separate. The “V” grooves allow you to effectively control the descent speed, without twisting the ropes.
