What are the main advantages of the Couloir harness for technical mountain excursions?

The Couloir harness offers lightness, compactness and ease of donning, making it ideal for large mountains, crevasses and glaciers. Its durable construction and breathable materials ensure comfort and safety during ascents.

How does the Couloir harness compare to other lightweight harnesses on the market?

The Couloir stands out for its ultra-lightweight 135g design, its ability to shrink to the size of an orange and the patented Infinity Loop system, which improves belay reliability. It is certainly one of the most compact and functional options for high mountain mountaineering.

What safety features does the Couloir harness integrate?

The Couloir harness includes the patented Infinity Loop, which allows you to eliminate ring changes and reduce the risk of belaying errors. Additionally, it has four Ice Clipper slots and an ice screw slot, for secure anchoring on glacier and ice.

How does it adapt to different physicalities thanks to the adjustment and materials?

The Couloir uses quick-adjust buckles and a diaper-style design for easy access. The waist and leg loops are color coded, facilitating intuitive adjustment and a customized fit for different sizes and body types.

Is the Couloir harness also suitable for unisex use and what are its dimensions?

Yes, the Couloir is designed as a unisex harness and weighs just 135g in the Mini version, making it extremely portable and versatile for any user looking for lightness and functionality in the mountains.

For technical big mountain lines, crevassed ski terrain, or moderate glacier climbs, the Black Diamond Couloir Harness is a full-featured technical harness that packs down to the size of an orange and stores easily in your backpack or jacket pocket. Redesigned with a breathable, low-profile Dynex variable-width monofilament fabric that's ultralight and durable, the Couloir features a one-speed buckle waistband with easy-adjust tabs and diaper-style leg loops that make it easy to get on and off while wearing skis or crampons. The Couloir also includes our patented Infinity Loop for belaying, which is durable, low profile and eliminates the dreaded belay loop change when the belay loop seam becomes snagged. Four Ice Clipper slots pair with an integrated ice screw slot in each leg loop to reduce rattling during long approaches and flat glacier travel, and two webbing gear loops secure cordelettes, extra carabiners and other essential gear.
