Mountaineering and climbing in the Sarca Valley and near Arco never fails to amaze us: it has been the forge for the birth of free climbing in Europe, and still does not fail to reveal itself to us new proposals on walls that are still incredibly evolving. In fact, from the previous edition of 590 pages and 520 itineraries, two volumes of over 500 pages have been produced for a total of over 800 multipitch routes, with 23 new walls.
As in the three previous editions and in Vol.1, the guide is accompanied by precise drawings by the author, completely renewed for the occasion, accurate historical and logistical notes and a comprehensive evaluation on the beauty and difficulty of the itinerary. Finally, some historical and current protagonists of mountaineering in the Valley they enrich the work by telling, through short writings, emotions and adventures experienced on the walls of Sarca.
Diego Filippi was born in Trento in 1967, is mountaineer, CAI academic and mountain guide. A profound connoisseur of the Sarca Valley and madly in love with its walls, he wanted to demonstrate this passion of his with accurate and precise work, the result of years of research and constant updating. This fourth edition represents the sum of his experiences as an expert and prolific climber of climbs, who knows how to combine the great classical tradition with the new and most current forms of climbing.
